Tour of Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland was established in 1914 as a part of the Federal Reserve System, the central bank of the United States. The Bank’s main office took up residence in its current home in the heart of downtown Cleveland in 1923. It is one of twelve regional Reserve Banks, that together with the Board of Governors in Washington, DC, make up the Federal Reserve System.

Guest Conductor, Lionel Bringuier will lead The Cleveland Orchestra in a program featuring recent MacArthur Genius Award Recipient and world-renowned musician Alisa Weilerstein, cello, performing Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1. Program also includes Stravinsky’s Suite from The Firebird Suite.

Recent Events:
   
-May 1, 2011 the Cleveland Association hosted the Annual Scholarship Awards Banquet at Landerhaven. This year our speaker was Sarah Brown Wessling, 2010 National Teacher of the Year. She recently received her award from President Obama at the White House.

-March 13, 2011. A member reception at Tri-C Metro Campus and a musical afternoon with Dr. Bill Rudman (a Hiram PBK) of the Musical Theater Project. Topic: The Making of My Fair Lady

- December 2, 2010. Reception, lecture and tour of the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, one of Northeast Ohio’s newest cultural landmarks. 20 Phi Betes and guests from across the county attended on the second night of the Festival of Lights.

- November 3, 2010. Membership event at the Cleveland Playhouse with a wine/cheese reception and pre-show talk, and third, fourth, fifth row seats for The Kite Runners. 21 attended this powerful and moving play.
 

- On Sunday May 2, 2010 the Cleveland Association hosted its 2010 Annual Scholastic Awards Banquet at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven

 

Guest Speaker: Ms. Sally Pellegrin, the 2009 Recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Math and Science. Ms. Pellegrin is a teacher at Clara E. Westropp Elementary School in Cleveland.
