PBK Cleveland Vice President Jenny Brown To Receive Vision Award

BURG AWARD: TEAM NEO'S HIGHEST HONOR

Regional economic development group Team NEO will honor the husband-and-wife team of Dr. Glenn R. Brown and Dr. Jeanette Grasselli Brown with the H. Peter Burg Regional Vision Award at the Team NEO Economic Development Plus Awards set for June 27.

ABOUT ΦBK CLE

The Cleveland Association of Phi Beta Kappa was established in 1947 to support the ideals of the Society through academic, social, and community-based programs.

The Cleveland Association draws its membership from over 3,700 residents of the Greater Cleveland area who were inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society as undergraduates. The Cleveland Association is one of over fifty similar Phi Beta Kappa associations across the country comprised of local Phi Beta Kappa members.

The Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall

On May 13, 2012, Cleveland Phi Beta Kappa members and their guests enjoyed a Cleveland Orchestra program that featured recent MacArthur Genius Award Recipient and world-renowned musician Alisa Weilerstein, cello, who performed Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 and Stravinsky’s Suite from The Firebird Suite.

sCHOLASTIC AWARDS

Annual Scholarship Awards Banquet at Landerhaven

Our annual scholarship awards banquet was held on May 6, 2012. Our keynote speaker was Thomas Chema, president of Hiram College. President Chema’s remarks: “Are you willing to ask? My thoughts on what it takes to get the most from your college education.” Lakewood High Senior Sarah Ghose was awarded this year's four-year renewable scholarship.
